Dr. Raymundo Romero
Internal Medicine and Oncology
It all started in Colima, Mexico where his parents came from. They emigrated to the United States where Dr. Romero grew up in Lennox, California. He graduated from high school Hawthorne High School and four years later received his Bachelors Degree in Human Biology at the University of La Sierra in Riverside, California.
Now Dr. Raymundo Romero Medical Oncologist is certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Oncology, respectively. He received his medical degree in 1999 from the School of Medicine at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. Completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Martin Luther King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. His specialty in Medical Oncology obtained from the UCLA Medical Center.
For several years, Dr. Romero has provided services and assistance to the Hispanic community in Los Angeles through health fairs, community presentations and through interviews in the media. He has contributed medical segments related to cancer for news of Telemundo, Univision and Channel 22 has been invited several times to the radio program of the 1020 AM as cancer expert, equally contributed to the review, Hispanic newspaper in Los Angeles. Getting to serve the Hispanic community was one of the many reasons why Dr. Romero decided to study the career of Medicine. Now through his practice located in the heart of East Los Angeles and the radio program "Talking Cancer" has become his dream.
Certified Physician’s Assistant
Maggie Carpio is a Certified Physician’s Assistant with an accomplished medical career spanning over 13 years. Fluently bilingual, English and Spanish, with the ability to provide excellent care in a diverse socioeconomic environment. Mrs. Carpio has demonstrated aptitude in leveraging knowledge of current standards of care, combined with extensive training, resulting in providing exceptional patient focused medical care. She is practiced in providing comprehensive physical examinations encompassing complete medical histories. She is an adjunct faculty member for California Baptist University for the Physician Assistant Program in Riverside California. Certifications include: Physician Assistant Committee (PAC), National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Certified (NCCPA), Drug Enforcement Agency Licensed (DEA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life support and First Aide Certified (BLS). In addition, Mrs. Carpio is currently in process of obtaining her Ph-D.
Dr. Randi McMichael
Dr. Randi McMichael is an optometrist performing comprehensive eye exams with special emphasis on eye health. She diagnoses diabetic eye disease, ocular hypertension, glaucoma, cataracts, corneal disease, and other ocular pathologies. She also specializes in contact lens fitting, red eye exam, pediatric vision care, Lasik work up, and pre- and post-operative care.
Dr. McMichael received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Washington in 2009. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She earned clinical honors two consecutive years during her time there. Dr. McMichael completed externships in several areas of practice. In New Hampshire, she worked at Merrimack Vision Care where she gained experience fitting all kinds of contact lenses, including spherical, toric, multifocal, and monovision fits. That same year, she trained with United Eye Care Specialists in Claremont, NH, where she learned how to diagnose and co-manage glaucoma patients. In East Boston, she treated a diverse group of patients at a neighborhood health center, often using clinical Spanish. Dr. McMichael is certified in California as a Therapeutic Optometrist as well as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is fluent in English, Khmer (Cambodian), and clinically relevant Spanish.
In her spare time, Dr. McMichael enjoys spending the day with her husband Joe and their two sons. She also enjoys painting, cooking, hiking, the beach and playing basketball.
